Surrender a Weim
Due to the large number of Weims currently in our rescue, we are not able to take ALL owner surrenders. Unfortunately, we have limited resources & a limited number of foster homes. If your dog is up to date on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, spayed/neutered & you are willing to keep the dog in your home, we can post your dog on our website & work toward finding a suitable home for your weim. Please note, the dogs in our program are with us an AVERAGE of 4-5 months...so please realize that this is not a quick process.
If you are considering giving up your dog due to behavioral issues, PLEASE contact a behaviorist in your area. If you don't know of one, ask your vet if they can give you a referral. A behaviorist should be able to work with you to resolve any issues so you can keep your beloved pet! If you would like to work on placing your dog on your own, please read the documents below (shared by North Texas Weim rescue). These will give you some guidelines & suggestions on how to prepare your dog for adoption & how to screen potential homes:
There are some circumstances where people feel they can no longer keep their dogs: death in the family, personal health issues, relocation, financial hardship, etc. If you feel that it is necessary to surrender your dog, please fill out and submit the release form:
