Way to go, Stark!

Stark recently found her forever family and we're so happy for her! This pint sized dynamo immediately won over her new parents and weim brother with her charming personality and the rest is history! Stark came to WRS back in the fall as a heartworm positve unclaimed stray. After being successfully treated for heartworms (and dropping a few needed pounds), this sweet girl was ready for her forever family. Way to go, Stark!!!

Way to go, Barney!

Barney was rescued from a rural Alabama shelter in June 2015. Heartworm positive and neglected, Barney spent several weeks in boarding, getting the medical care he needed. Once he was given a clean bill of health, Barney moved to his foster home. After spending a few months together,  Barney's foster dad realized that Barney was meant to be with him for forever. We love it when our foster homes fall in love with these wonderful dogs!

Congratulations Murray!

After spending a very short time with WRS, Murray has found his forever home! This sweet young goofy boy charmed EVERYONE he met and we knew he wouldn't be with us long. Murray is now Gizmo and he has two human and one weim brother to have fun with. Gizmo is one lucky pup who will have a long, wonderful life with his new family!

Doc's Happily Ever After....

After spending about 24 hours with Doc, his foster mom knew he wouldn't be around long! Doc was an unclaimed stray from a Mississippi shelter. And, in the words of his foster mom and forever family, Doc is PERFECT! He is well mannered, gets along with everyone, and loves to play ball. We're so happy for him and his new family - we know he will be loved for the rest of his life!

Oscar's Happy Ending!

Oscar, the sweet, precious boy who was rescued from a Mississippi cruelty case and had quietly suffered with a blind, glaucoma affected eye that was removed once he was in WRS's care, is doing AMAZING in his forever home! His new mom readily admits to spoiling him rotten, but she says Oscar is a very beloved member of their family. Oscar is enjoying his twice daily walks in the neighborhood and more people know Oscar's name than his mom's; he's a social butterfly! We are overwhelmed at the very happy ending for this incredibly special boy!

Congratulations Bohdi!

Bohdi (fka Steele) was an unclaimed, heartworm positive stray that WRS pulled from a rural Tennessee shelter back in January. After successfully completing heartworm treatment, he went on a home visit with one of our volunteers to meet some potential adopters. Seizing the moment and opportunity, Bohdi quickly convinced this wonderful family that he was the only dog for them! Several weeks later, Bohdi is doing great and his now forever family says he's the sweetest, dog ever! Congratulations to Bohdi and his lucky family!
